It was not our first visit to Cascade Manor. We discovered the place rather accidentally, when first travelling to South Africa 5 years ago. It is hidden in a little Valey, and word of mouth brought us there. In those days we were just married, young humanitarian workers in the Great Lakes region.
And since, then, whenever we were in South Africa, we made sure to include a week-end outing in Paarl, just to relax at Cascade Manor. The last visit, in the midst of South African winter, was especially enjoyable, this time accompanied by our newborn baby. The food is great, the wine selection is unique and to die for, the service is impeccable, and yes, it is a romantic place, even with small children.
What a fantastic stay, just way too short!!! So peaceful.
Definitely have to walk to the waterfall. Along the way the biggest olive trees I have ever seen, they must have been standing there for ages!! The waterfall is sucha romantic setting for a wedding... just beautiful!!!

Billed as a B&B but in many ways a small, luxury hotel. The setting is superb, out of Paarl but handy to the city and its restaurants etc. The pool is great and the whole atmosphere was one of tranquility. Staff very pleasant with a family touch. We stayed for a week but would have liked to have stayed for longer. A great spot - South Africa at its best.
Chef's hobby:
Ursprünglich wollten wir 3 Tage bleiben, am Ende waren es 7 Tage. Wir haben uns sehr,sehr wohl gefühlt – vielen Dank für alles. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
